Why I Mediate?
After many years of helping clients try or settle cases, I've seen how often the best solution is reached outside of the courtroom. While it is exciting to try cases, it is equally rewarding to see clients reach solutions without the cost or stress of a trial. Because of this, I've decided to spend more of my time as a mediator.
A Focus on Results
As you may know, I grew up in South Texas. I've worked in the oilfield, construction, on farms and ranches. As a petroleum land-man, I traveled extensively in the State meeting and negotiating leases with property owners. I've developed a pretty good understanding of and appreciation for the folks who will be sitting on your juries. I have participated in hundreds of mediations and settlement conferences and have developed a very clear understanding of the skills needed to be a strong, effective mediator. In my 30+ years as a trial lawyer, I've grown to appreciate the importance of mediation in all civil proceedings.
